Doors guitarist Robby Krieger recently released a brand-new solo single, a version of the classic 1959 Santo and Johnny instrumental “Sleepwalk.”

The track, which showcases Krieger’s trademark slide guitar, is available now digitally and via streaming services.

Robby is accompanied on the song by one-time Annie Lennox keyboardist Ed Roth, as well as by bassist Phil Chen and drummer Ty Dennis, who served as the rhythm section for several of Krieger and the late Ray Manzarek‘s Doors spinoff bands.

You can check out a video of Krieger performing “Sleepwalk” with Roth, Chen and Dennis on Robby’s YouTube channel.

According to a post on his website and Facebook page, Krieger’s also planning to release an archival 1979 recording by his short-lived group, Red Shift.

In other news, Krieger will reunite with Doors drummer John Densmore this Saturday, September 7, to perform at a benefit event for an independent Los Angeles radio station at Skirball Cultural Center in L.A.

Meanwhile, two performances Krieger had scheduled this September with Mountain frontman Leslie West — on September 18 in Ridgefield, Connecticut, and September 20 in Westbury, New York — have been postponed until May 2 and 1, 2020, respectively. Robby is still slated to perform with West on September 14 in Englewood, New Jersey.

Krieger’s upcoming itinerary also includes two headlining shows: September 15 in Annapolis, Maryland, and September 28 at the famed Whisky a Go Go in West Hollywood, California.
