Now, a list celebrity presenters who will take part in the ceremony has been unveiled. Among the notable rockers that will take to the podium at the event are original Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach, Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, Foreigner and ex-Dokken bassist Jeff Pilson, former Deep Purple bassist/singer Glenn Hughes, Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali, Cinderella drummer Fred Coury, and Black Star Riders and ex-Ratt bassist Robbie Crane.
The gala also will feature a variety of performances. According to a press release, “the amazing vocals and visuals of Ronnie James Dio…will provide the entertainment,” along with Dio band members Simon Wright, Craig Goldy, Scott Warren and Bjorn Englen, joined by guest singers Tim “Ripper” Owens and Oni Logan. In addition, comedian Brian Posehn will deliver some laughs and also will perform a song from his forthcoming music album, with accompaniment from Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian and other musicians.
As for the awards presentations, they will honor those who “played a role in…Dio’s legacy” or helped with the Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, which was founded following the singer’s death. The eight trophies that will be handed out are all named after Dio’s songs, including the Holy Diver Award, the Killing the Dragon Award and the Rainbow in the Dark Award.
The event also will include a silent auction and a raffle offering unusual and unique memorabilia and experiences.
