Credit: dhlovelifeNeil Young recently announced that he was planning to hit the road this year with Crazy Horse on a North American tour of old arenas, but the folk-rock legend now admits the trek may be sidetracked because of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

In a post on his official website, Young writes, “We find ourselves looking at this uncertain world, with our Crazy Horse Barn Tour booked and ready to announce the first leg, [but the] idea of announcing the tour and putting tickets on sale is questionable and needs to be thought through.”

Neil acknowledges that many fans “have been waiting almost 10 years” since he last hit the road with Crazy Horse, but notes that while he and the band “are all super ready to go…the last thing we want to do is put people at risk, especially our older audience.”

Young goes on to send best wishes to healthcare and government workers, and scientists who are determining “the best ways to ensure survival in our world challenged.”

In a separate post, Young directs fans to his website’s Timeline section, which now reveals the release dates for a number of archival projects he’s shared information about in recent months.

Homegrown, a collection of unreleased acoustic tunes from 1974 and ’75, is due out on April 18. Return to Greendale, a concert film and album documenting a Toronto show from his 2003 tour in support of his Greendale rock opera, will be released on June 19. The Neil Young Archives Volume 2 box set will arrive on July 24. Rust Bucket, featuring a November 1990 club performance with Crazy Horse, is due out on October 16. Lastly, Young Shakespeare, which captures a 1971 solo acoustic show he played in Stratford, Connecticut, will be issued on November 27.
