Some people have been seeking help as they deal with poor air quality due to smoke from wildfires in Canada.
Henry Ford Hospital pulmonary chief Daniel Ouellette says he’s having a lot of difficulty with his patients who have chronic respiratory diseases because of this air.
“It can be a concern for everyone,” Ouellette said. “What I would do is use a government website, which is fire.airnow.gov. You can go to that and geolocalize, and you can find the air quality right where you’re at. And if the air quality index is over about 150, that will give you specific indications that everybody should stay inside on a day like that. And those are the days we’re having right now.”
Dr. Ouellette suggests wearing a mask if you’re working outside.
