Lincoln Township Manager Ralph Bansen is stepping down.
The township announced on Tuesday Bansen has submitted his resignation, effective October 12, due to personal reasons. He was hired as Lincoln Township’s first township manager in August of last year. Prior to that, he served the community for 36 years as a police officer and as an ordinance compliance officer.
The Lincoln Township Board of Trustees will officially accept Bansen’s resignation at its September 9 meeting. The board says it, and township residents, thank Bansen for his many years of service, wishing him and his family “only the best.”
Bansen was hired to serve as the township’s first manager after a change in the structure of township government last year. Prior to having a manager hired by the township board, day to day administrative duties in Lincoln Township were handled by the elected supervisor.
There’s no word yet on how the township will go about seeking Bansen’s replacement.
