Traverse City is known for its wineries, but this week marks the first time it’s ever had a Food and Wine Festival.

The Traverse City Food and Wine Festival kicks off this Wednesday, August 19 with 70 events downtown and at many of the city’s wineries. Co-owner of Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery, Patrick Brys, says chefs like Tyler Florence and Mei Lin will take part.

Celebrity chefs, top chefs from all around Michigan, as well as obviously the amazing food and wine scene that exists in Traverse City,” Brys said. “Traverse City is now with over 50 wineries in the area, and then add to that microbreweries, distilleries, and then the farm-to-table cuisine that exists up in Traverse City and amazing restaurants.”
