The South Haven Theater Series will host its next one-person show on September 13 with “Mike Royko: The Toughest Man In Chicago.”
The theater series tells us Mitchell Bisschop will portray the title character, a Chicago columnist who wrote about the city the way its people like to think of themselves: tough, cynical, and with compassion for the little guy. Royko wrote more than 7,500 columns in his 34 years as a newspaperman, always advocating for the working man and tackling corruption along the way.
The South Haven Theater Series says Bisschop’s show had an award-winning run in Los Angeles last June and drew packed audiences at The Kraine Theater in New York City and in Chicago for two runs in 2024. Now it’s coming to South Haven for one night only.
The show will start at 7:30 at the Listiak Auditorium in South Haven on the 13th and tickets are available now.
