New Buffalo police say one person suffered minor injuries after a suspect broke into a home and committed an assault on Tuesday.
The New Buffalo Police Department says it got a report of a naked man walking a dog near the CSX Railroad tracks on South Whittaker Street around 8 a.m. As officers were looking for him, they learned he’d allegedly broken into a home and assaulted the resident. When police arrived, the suspect had barricaded himself in a bedroom and refused to come out.
Police forced their way in and tasered the suspect multiple times as he resisted them. The suspect was taken to a hospital in Michigan City, Indiana to be treated, while officers suffered no injuries.
The resident declined medical treatment.
