Hundreds of bicyclists will converge on Love Creek County Park in Berrien Center on Sunday, October 5 for Love Biketober Fest.

Berrien County Parks Department naturalist Derek Pelk tells us the annual event raises funds for the Bike Michiana Coalition, a group of dedicated riders from all over the region. It’s an informal sort of ride that’s all about having a communal experience.

It’s organized for cyclists, by cyclists,” Pelk said. “It’s a celebration of getting outdoors. Love Creek is a wonderful venue for the launching of all the different routes we have, as well as the mountain bike trail that’s on Love Creek.”

Pelk says riders will gather at 9 a.m. for registration, and then the ride will be from 10 a.m. to noon. Riders can choose their own routes.

We have the opportunity to pick from three different routes actually, routes that range from 25 to 50 miles.”

There are some new routes this year, including gravel trails, mountain bike trails, and on-road riding. Once the ride is over, everyone will gather for food and drinks for the rest of the afternoon.

Tickets for Love Biketober Fest are available now, and you can get them here.
