The city of St. Joseph’s project to reconstruct part of Botham Avenue is almost finished.

Botham has been under construction on the west side of Niles Avenue since July.

City Engineer Tim Zebell says the first layer of asphalt was completed Wednesday, while the top layer was to be laid Thursday.

The plan for Friday is to set the manhole castings into the concrete. Restoration of the landscaping is already underway and will continue this weekend, while new signage will be installed in the next several days. Lastly, new pavement markings will be painted on next week prior to a final inspection.

Zebell says the city thanks everyone for their patience.
