The deadline is approaching for a two-day gardening workshop hosted by the River Valley Garden Club.
The club says registration closes April 3 for the event, which will cover topics including container gardening, native trees and shrubs, plant growth factors, new plant development, and even growing mushrooms.
The workshop will be held April 17 and 18 at Harbert Community Church. Presenters will include experts from Western Michigan University, along with speakers from Indiana Natures LLC and Harbor Country Mushrooms.
Organizers say each class is independent, so participants don’t need prior experience or attendance at earlier workshops.
The cost is $60 for members of Michigan Garden Clubs and $75 for nonmembers, which includes breakfast and lunch both days.
River Valley Garden Club President Elizabeth Palulis says the workshop is a fun way to kick off the spring and meet others who are interested in gardening.
