The Krasl Art Center in St. Joseph is planning a special pop-up event for Mother’s Day next month.

Events Director Jamie Balkin tells us the event is going to be held on Saturday, April 25 as the Krasl offers everyone a chance to purchase flower pots as a gift for Mom.

“You can get one that’s pre-decorated,” Balkin said. “You can decorate it. And then we’ll also have a spot where you can plant flowers in it. And then in addition to that, we’ll have our new print lab. We’ll have a card option where you can go step inside and make a card for mom as well.”

The day is also a fundraiser for the Krasl Clay Artist Guild.

“Our Clay Guild has been wanting to do this type of fundraiser for several years now. And it is a fundraiser for our clay guild and they’ve already started making the pots and we’re really excited to be offering this.”

The cost per flower pot will be between $10 and $40, depending on the size and type.

Balkin says the day will be a great chance for kids to do something creative for Mom before Mother’s Day. Also, Ben’s Pretzels will be on site, serving up freshly made treats.

The pop-up event on April 25 will be at the Krasl Art Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
