Original Story:
Several injuries have been reported after a crash involving a semi, a U-Haul truck, an SUV, and a small passenger bus on I-94 in Berrien County Tuesday.
The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department says it happened in the eastbound lanes of the construction zone near mile marker 27 in Royalton Township around 11:30 a.m.
Responding deputies learned a U-Haul truck pulling a trailer made a last-minute lane change, causing other eastbound vehicles to slow down rapidly. However, an eastbound semi pulling a 53-foot trailer failed to slow down and rear ended a small passenger bus that had been converted for personal use. The bus was then pushed into a small SUV.
Several passengers in the bus were injured with one passenger suffering serious injuries.
The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department is urging drivers to slow down and pay attention in construction zones.
