Set for this Saturday and Sunday is the next Whirlpool Appliance Sale to benefit the United Way of Southwest Michigan.
The United Way’s Dawn Howley tells us this is everyone’s chance to scoop up some brand-new appliances at deep discounts, all thanks to the generosity of Whirlpool. The company donates the items so they can be sold at deep discounts, with proceeds going to the United Way.
“They’ve supported the work that we do in the community forever,” Howley said. “Whirlpool has always been one of our greatest supporters in Southwest Michigan, and we couldn’t be more grateful for that partnership.”
Howley says they’ll have large appliances like refrigerators and dishwashers, as well as KitchenAid small appliances, including stand mixers and blenders.
“What I love the most because I can give them as gifts is the KitchenAid small appliances. It’s always a new variety every single year. We never know what we’re going to get, but it’s always wonderful. Great, great items.”
The appliance sale will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday at 211 Hilltop Road in St. Joseph.
The pickup location for large items will be 1488 East Empire Avenue in Benton Harbor. For a fee, buyers can have larger items delivered, and something new this year will be installations of some larger appliances. Howley says the United Way is now working with a contractor who can do that.
