Some construction on I-94 in the Coloma area is about to get started.

The Michigan Department of Transportation says it’s in the second year of a two-year investment worth $31.7 million to repave I-94 between Coloma and Watervliet.

Work on this next phase starts Monday, May 4 and will continue through late November.

Drivers are being told that two lanes of travel will remain open in each direction during the project, but there will be some nighttime work when only one lane can be maintained.

The work is intended to improve safety, ride quality, and the road surface, as well as extend the pavement life.
