The latest Whirlpool Corporation Appliance Sale to benefit the United Way is being called a resounding success.

The United Way’s Zack East tells us the sale took place this past weekend in St. Joseph, and raised a healthy amount to help support United Way programs.

I would say it’s pretty successful,” East said. “$139,000 raised for United Way, which beats last year’s net total. So we’re pretty excited at the community’s commitment to coming out, getting some great deals and helping United Way.”

And East says they’re still counting. So, what did people buy?

690 units in total were sold across the two days. 445 of those were small appliances. So that was pretty indicative of the amount of people that we saw that came in the door who pretty much rushed for the corner of the room that had the KitchenAid small appliances.”

Much of the funds raised will go into the United Way’s Community Impact Fund, which East says helps respond to new situations in the community as the need arises. In a time of uncertainty, the Community Impact Fund has become more relevant than ever.

East added Whirlpool donates all of the brand new appliances so they can be sold to customers at greatly discounted prices. You can keep yourself up to date on the latest with the sales at WhirlpoolApplianceSale.com.
